Early Careers programmes: Amey’s Early Careers programmes are inclusive and designed to build a sustainable pipeline of future talent, address skills shortages and develop experts and leaders for the future.
The Early Careers Programme is designed to provide a balanced approach to on-the-job learning and the development of personal and professional skills. This programme is conducted in collaboration with the Learning & Development team and the People Manager.
During the programme, you will attend 4x Development Days, which focus on enhancing key skills. These days also offer valuable opportunities for networking with other Early Careers participants across TI, fostering the sharing of experiences, knowledge, and the building of friendships.
Apprentices (Level 2/SCQF 5 – Level 5/SCQF 8): An Apprenticeship allows you to earn, while working and learning by combining on-the-job and off-the-job training. You will spend at number of your working hours in training or studying on the job.

Apprenticeships will typically range from 2-3 years for a Technician Level (BTEC), through to 5-6 years for a Degree Apprenticeship. Apprentices also have the opportunity to achieve professional status such as EngTech or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) dependent on the apprentice type and level.
Waterman operates a split work-to-learning week whereby apprentices have a designated day to spend on their studies, whilst the rest of their time will be spent gaining hands-on experience from work mentors and new projects. Study days are delivered at their local university, relevant to their chosen course, including lectures, team building exercises and reading materials. However, some study is also delivered online and uses an e-learning platform to connect students from a wide range of business backgrounds.
