Vital Energi

Energy

Century House, Roman Road, Blackburn, Lancashire, BB1 2LD

01254296000

Vital Energi is one of the UK’s leading providers of sustainable energy solutions, supporting towns, cities, businesses, and public sector organisations in reducing carbon emissions and progressing towards net‑zero. Operating within the dynamic energy sector, we deliver a comprehensive range of energy services, systems, and solutions—both as an Asset Owner and Operator, and on behalf of our clients. With projects located close to Trafford & Stockport College Group students, including the Manchester Civic Quarter Heat Network (Tower of Light), Manchester Metropolitan University’s Birley Fields Energy Centre, and decarbonisation works at The Christie Hospital, our work plays a key role in major regeneration and decarbonisation efforts across Manchester and the wider UK. Vital Energi offers a range of apprenticeship programmes that give students a hands‑on start in the UK’s fast‑growing renewable energy sector. Apprentices can choose from three pathways — Technical, Low Carbon, or Business — each providing industry‑recognised qualifications (from Level 2 to Level 6) while working on real low‑carbon projects that support the UK’s net‑zero goals. Whether learning to install and maintain renewable technologies, supporting engineering teams, or developing business skills, apprentices gain practical experience, mentorship from industry experts, and clear progression routes into higher‑level roles and further study. Alongside apprenticeships, Vital Energi also offers a Graduate Scheme for university leavers looking to begin their journey in the low‑carbon and renewable energy sector. The Graduate Scheme provides two pathways — Business Management (including Marketing, SHEQ, ESG, Finance and HR) and Technical (such as Heat Networks, Projects, Commercial, Solutions and Engineering) — giving graduates the chance to rotate through different departments, learn from industry experts and contribute to major net‑zero projects across the UK. All qualifications are delivered through a structured day-release programme, ensuring that learners spend 80% of their time in the workplace and 20% in College or University. This model allows apprentices to apply their learning directly in real working environments while still gaining high quality academic input.

We work with a wide range of local education and training providers to deliver this blended approach, including:

•             University of Manchester

•             Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU)

•             Salford College

•             Bolton College

•             And several other trusted regional partners

This collaborative model ensures that learners receive both practical, hands-on experience and strong academic foundations, supported by institutions that understand the needs of our local communities and industries.
